Verizon kicked off a new promotion this week that could land you an extra 8GB of bonus data per month should you switch to the L option on The Verizon plan and keep 4 lines active. The deal includes 8GB of data upfront in the L or Large tier, but then tacks on an extra 2GB per line up to 4 lines to get you to 16GB per month. The price for all of that? $150.

Promotions setup like this aren’t new to Verizon, but the bonus data they toss in might actually make them a decent value. To take advantage, your family must sign-up for the L plan on Verizon that includes 8GB of data. From there, you can grab an extra 2GB of bonus data per month up to 4 lines, as long as you “upgrade or activate a phone” on those lines. Again, the headline here is that you get 16GB of data per month that can be shared across all of your lines for $150 and that includes the line access fees.

Now, if you are looking for a catch, it’s in the device upgrade or activation portion. Verizon says that in order to get the 2GB bonus data on each line, you do have to “upgrade or activate a phone.” That means you can’t just take all of your current phones and lines and migrate over to the 8GB L plan and grab the 8GB of bonus data. You either have to upgrade phones with a payment plan or activate new lines. So your monthly service bill is $150, but your bill could be higher depending on the phones you ugprade to and the monthly payments that come with them.
